Some of you may have received a report, through being a subscriber to 'The Marketing Leaders' magazine or from another source, that I, and my trusted friend and colleague Graham Jarvis (Editor, The Marketing Leaders) have 'moved on' from The Marketing Leaders. I must admit to having a bit of a 'Mark Twain' moment when I was reading about myself seemingly 'moving on'.This is not the case. One of our colleagues has 'commandeered' the serving systems for TML and sent out this message. One would have laughed at this effort at a personal coup, but the subscriber needs to be sent truthful messages and this one was not. Recent reports purporting to come officially from TML were neither factual or endorsed by Graham and I and as a co-owners and Founders of the magazine and subscriber base, Graham and I continue to own intellectual property in it as does the many key and valued contributors Graham invited in as 'Leaders'.
However, this situation cannot continue nor can we be detracted by this, and we have effectively turned our attention solely to the subscriber - the Marketer - and will unveil a service that better meets what Graham and I have set out to achieve over these past years. This will be highly different in terms of its focus, and now in partnering with professional organisations at the cutting edge of modern marketing, we will bring you the best possible service to enhance and improve your role, career and performance.
Great Leadership in marketing - as in all things - is about courage, honesty and integrity and in demonstrating good conduct and valuing people and goodwill. This Graham and I will continue to uphold and to serve the Marketer throughout 2008 and beyond.
